Homemade Bone Broth
Bone broth supplies the body with collagen, electrolytes and protein!
This is a recipe that I’ve incorporated into my kitchen rhythm. It’s something that takes such minimal effort, and yields big results. Bone broth is deeply nourishing and comforting.

Be sure to review the tips section to ensure maximum nutrient extraction and flavor!
Bone broth makes for a caring gift for a friend or family member especially in times of sickness or healing. Just last weekend, a friend of mine handed me a mason jar filled with bone broth because I was healing from illness. It was such a treat to bring home and sip on for the next few days.
Simply make a batch over the weekend and reap the benefits all week long!
Tips:
- Add apple cider vinegar. The acidity in the vinegar helps to break down the bones and release all of the glorious minerals.
- Save your vegetable scraps! Adding vegetable scraps like red onion peels, shreds of carrots, etc. adds a beautiful color and fullness to the broth. Plus, less waste! Simply keep a freezer bag specifically for your broth and every time you have vegetable scraps, add it to the bag.
- Save the fat! After the broth has cooled, you’ll be left with a luscious layer of fat. Use this fat in high heat cooking! It adds both flavor and nutrients.

Enjoy! Lately, I’ve been relaxing in a magnesium & lavender oil bath while sipping on this broth. It really warms me up during this winter season.
